THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THIS EVENT
As technology connects us more than ever, many of us have become disconnected from ourselves, from nature and from the practical knowledge our parents, grandparents and ancestors once relied upon.
Grounded Women was created to reconnect women with those timeless skills.
Drawing on my experience as a former Australian Special Forces soldier, together with the knowledge of skilled local women, we’ll share practical bushcraft and survival skills, many of which continue to be practised by Indigenous Australians today.
This experience isn’t about surviving for the sake of survival.
It’s about building confidence, resilience, capability and a stronger connection with yourself and the natural world.
THE EVENT
This event is much more than 3.5 days spent in the bush. We will utilise old knowledge, along with modern technology, working with nature to assist us with the prioritisation of survival needs. There will be a focus on building connection, sharing knowledge and some campfire conversations and storytelling.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Grounded Women is for women with a reasonable level of fitness who want to:
• Learn practical bushcraft and survival skills
• Build confidence in the outdoors
• Disconnect from the pressures of modern life
• Reconnect with nature
• Meet like minded women
• Challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment
You don’t need any previous outdoor experience.
I’ll tailor the experience to suit the group, ensuring everyone is challenged at a level that’s appropriate for them.

Over the 3.5 days you’ll develop practical skills including:
• Sourcing, collecting, purifying and carrying safe drinking water

• Identifying edible bush foods and common edible weeds
